What you learn: This course is designed for the working professional
who desires to update their AutoCAD skills and those people interested in advancing their
employment opportunities. It reinforces basic understanding
and develops experience in more advanced applications. Topics include
file referencing across the project data, user coordinate systems,
dynamic viewing and paper/model space conventions. Advanced AutoCAD
commands and drafting conventions are heavily stressed.
Prerequisite: AutoCAD 2 is designed for people who desire to strengthen their command of AutoCAD. All students are expected to have (1) a working knowledge of basic drafting procedures and terminology, (2) a basic knowledge of the Windows operating environment and (3) a basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT 2D drawing and editing commands equivalent to the lessons learned in AutoCAD 1.
The course is designed for (1) AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT users with less than 6 months professional experience, (2) current AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT users who have not had formal training and (3) current users who are not using the software efficiently.
Course Description: AutoCAD 2 is an intermediate level course for professional designers, contractors, trades professionals, architects and others seeking professional advancement through acquiring computer design skills.
This course is being taught in a combined lecture/lab environment. The majority of the time, the student will be working on the computer. A typical class period will involve the instructor's direct prompting the students on the computer through a series of steps until thorough comprehension of and execution of that command is demonstrated..
By the conclusion of this class, participants will be able to apply AutoCAD to develop and assemble a set of 2D design construction documents.
