This is a hands-on course using AutoCAD 2011. Because both AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT programs have (essentially) identical user interfaces, the AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT courses are taught concurrently. AutoCAD is the dominant Computer-Aided Design and Drafting program in the world. The course will utilize lectures, hands-on demonstrations and lab exercises to familiarize participants with the AutoCAD commands and menuing systems.
The course covers commands relevant to two-dimensional drafting techniques and especially the prowess involved in developing a set of architectural working drawings. At the conclusion of the course, students will be able to enroll in the Working Drawings, CAD 3D Modeling, AutoCAD Project Management and Revit courses.
Learn
important manipulation and management tools for assembling and integrating
drawings within the construction document set. This course includes
"model space," "paper space" and "layout
environments." When we developed our curriculum, we started
with the requirements of the AutoDesk Training Centers. We enhanced
that curriculum to provide you even more exposure to AutoCAD --
and especially with relevant skills needed for the Construction
Industry.
This course is being taught in a combined lecture/lab environment. The majority of the time, the student will be working on the computer. A typical class period will involve the instructor's direct prompting the students on the computer through a series of steps until thorough comprehension of and execution of that command is demonstrated.
Course Project: Create an abbreviated working drawing set, including a
Floor Plan, Foundation Plan, Electrical Plan and two sheets of Building Elevations. In the class, we build the individual components and externally reference those source files throughout the drawing sheets.
