What you learn: This course is designed as both a follow-up to Introductory AutoCAD and Intermediate AutoCAD and as a method of enhancing skills relevant to developing a set of construction documents relevant for the documentation of a construction project. Knowledge and confidence in the application of 2D computer documentation tools will be gained through hands-on training exercises and demonstrations in the computer lab.
The course will utilize lectures, hands-on demonstrations and lab exercises to familiarize participants with the basic AutoCAD commands and menuing systems.
The course covers two-dimensional drawing commands and drafting techniques for buildings and furnishings, dimensioning, layering systems and plotting.
Prerequisite: This course is designed for people who need to enhance their ability to assemble a set of construction documents.
All students are expected to have (1) a working knowledge of basic drafting procedures and terminology, (2) a basic knowledge of the Windows operating environment and (3) a basic understanding of AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT 2D drawing and editing commands equivalent to the lessons learned in AutoCAD 2.
The course is designed for (1) AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT users with less than 6 months professional experience, (2) current AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD LT users who have not had formal training and (3) current users who are not using the software efficiently.
Course Description: An advanced level course for professional designers, architects and others seeking professional advancement through acquiring two- dimensional computer design skills.
By the conclusion of this class, participants will be able to apply the lessons learned in AutoCAD 1, 2 and 3 for 2D design projects.
