REVIT ARCHITECTURE
I - Introduction to Building Information Modeling
What
you learn: Everyone is hearing
the buzz. Come on -- be a part of what Revit Architecture is all about.
Learn the many benefits of adding Revit Architecture into your professional
toolbox. Learn how to save time and money by correctly using Revit
Building.
Prerequisite: Fundamental working knowledge of
the Windows environment, AutoCAD I, II or instructor approval. CAD
drafting experience required.
Course Description: This is a hands-on introduction
to Revit Architecture, on the Windows platform. Revit Architecture is the
most prominent building information modeling (BIM) program designed
specifically for architects and designers. The course will utilize
lectures, hands-on demonstrations and lab exercises to familiarize
participants with the basic concepts and tools utilized in Revit
Building. The course covers topics that will reveal how the software
integrates 3D modeling and 2D documentation. At the conclusion of
the course, students will be able to begin productive application
of Revit Architecture for simple building projects and will be qualified
to enroll in Revit Architecture II - Intermediate Building Information
Modeling.
Class Project: In the class, we build a "hotel-like" building -- creating an integrated model which includes plans, elevations and sections. The building includes a storefront system, and an exiting system (stairs). We create sheets which include door and room tags.
