What you learn: In this course, students explore the more advanced methods of documenting a building project in Revit Architecture.
Prerequisite: Fundamental working knowledge of
the Windows environment, REVIT ARCHITECTURE I or instructor approval.
At least 1 year of AutoCAD drafting experience preferred.
Course Description: The classes will be taught from the architect’s perspective, but interior designers and engineers can also gain valuable insight as the course unfolds.
Topics include scheduling building components, using the family editor to create 2D and 3D components, refining graphics, and construction documentation.
By the conclusion of this course, students will be able to develop a BIM model independently and understand how to organize it as an integrated, interoperable construction document set.
Class Project: In the class, we continue our work on a commercial building. In this series of classes, we build parametrics for cabinetry, create door and window schedules, door types and cost schedules. We crate advanced wall types, including the use of tapered walls and curtain walls. We finish up the class creating details and enlarged section views.
