Blueprint Reading & Detailing
Core Curriculum
As our jobs change, many people who have not been "schooled" or professional trained in using blueprints are now being required to learn about them to do their jobs.
Learn how information is conveyed in a set of Construction Documents (CDs).
Blueprint reading is not rocket science, but there is a very specific "language" which interrelates information through a set of construction documents.
In our Blueprint Reading 1 class we focus on blueprints for both residential and commercial projects.
For our Blueprint Reading 2 class, we get more technical and get into the detailing systems and calculations used in Structural Engineering drawings.
This class is great for facilities people and sales people who are working in the construction industry.
CADTeacher.com offers two Blueprint Reading core curriculum classes.

In our classes, our students learn to:
Define different types of scales used on drawings.
Identify the height, width, and length dimensions of a drawing.
Interpret the various symbols and notations used on drawings.
Understand multiview sketches of simple objects that accurately show all the details of the objects.
The reading of construction blueprints is a fundamental skill in construction.
All construction professionals, regardless of whether they are working in the field or in the office, must know how to read blueprints.
Blueprint reading is not terribly difficult but it does require practice and some basic knowledge of blueprints.
